Hi all. Currently my hubby, sister and I are residents of Ontario, Waterloo. We are looking to move to BC.
I am computer programmer, he is a film major and my sister is studying to be a journalist. We don’t like big cities, but for better paid jobs we are willing to live in a bigger rather than smaller city. We love ocean, forests, mountains... so cities with a lot of nature would be something we would like... but again, it all comes down to money.
I honestly don’t know where to start. We are planning to move to BC in spring/summer of 2011. We would like to have jobs available for us, and there are some agencies that can help us with that... but it’s a bit too early to look for a job now.
So here are the questions that I need your help with:
1) Which city would be the most suitable for us
2) What would be the average rent for a 2 bedroom apartment (in good areas of city)
3) What is average living cost (food, outings....) for family of 3
4) I hope that we’ll be able to afford a 3 bdr home 2 years after we move to BC... what would be the average cost in a safe part of the city.
My hubby and I are also planning to visit BC, so if you could list some nice hotels in cities you suggested, that would be great!!!
If anyone knows of any agencies that could help us plan our move and provide us with information, please let us know.
